We need to know the answer to this question. We need to know deep down in the depths of our soul, can we trust God? Sometimes we need to make a decision - will we or won’t we trust Him? It’s an easy answer when things are all going our way - but what about when things aren’t going according to our plan? What about when the storm winds blow in our lives?

Love is in the air! We love love! We love to be in love, we love to feel loved and we love to make the ones we love to feel loved. But there is a flip side to love and it feels so ugly. God has given us the capacity to both love and to hate. Let’s talk about what God has to say about both love and hate.
As believers, let’s make sure we share the qualities of love in 1 Corinthians 13. God is love. Let’s ask God to help us to look more like Him as we live out our life. We cannot do this in our own strength, we need His strength. We should also recognize what God hates and we should hate it as well. Scripture doesn’t say to hate those who do the things God hates. But, we should hate our own sin enough to confess it and turn from it.

Marriages are wonderful and difficult. There is sure to be conflict, because both parties are human. Beginning with Adam and Eve, blame became a part of our union and we easily see our spouse’s faults as we struggle to see our own. This is no surprise to God. So, how do we fulfill our part of this union and do what the Bible instructs us to do? Philippians 2:3-5 (TPT) “Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves. Abandon every display of selfishness. Possess a greater concern for what matters to others instead of your own interests. And consider the example of Jesus, the Anointed One, has set before us. Let his mindset become your motivation.”
When it becomes hard to do what is right in our marriage, we have the power of the Holy Spirit alive in us. He is our helper and our strength. We can love our mate well through Christ who strengthens us. We need His help! Times of struggle are sure to come and we are sure to need His help. Jesus is always the answer. Prayer is the way we are to fight for our spouse.
Staying in the Word and spending time in prayer helps to hold us accountable to do our part in our marriage. Having an accountability partner to come alongside you and walk alongside you - pointing you to Jesus time and time again - can also be a help. Sometimes we are blinded to our part in the damage in our marriage because we are focused on our spouse’s faults. What we need to do is focus on Jesus. Accountability is the state of holding ourselves to someone else and having them help us measure our growth or our loss. Sometimes we like that and sometimes we don’t. To be held accountable we have to be honest and vulnerable. We need to be willing to receive feedback and even instruction.
This is a choice we can make so that we live in our true identity as believers. We need accountability to stay on the path God has for us. We should be thankful when someone holds us accountable. We should not be offended. We are to be humble and accept respectful correction. So… who holds you accountable?

How do our priorities affect our life? Today we are talking about the book of Haggai in the Bible. There are only 2 chapters in this book - but it helps us to understand the cost of misplaced priorities. Are we putting Jesus as our top priority? Scripture tells us to “seek first the kingdom of God”, but do we? Or are our priorities out of order?
We are praying for you and asking God to help you get your priorities in the right order. In order to do that, we need His help. We need His intervention and supernatural help.
